Quick start — from zero to music
The whole journey on one page. Every step links to its full chapter when you want the detail.
1. Install Audiogravity on the box
curl -fsSL https://audiogravity.app/install.sh | sudo bash
One command on your Debian 13 (Trixie) box, DietPi or Raspberry Pi OS included — core and interface together, keys generated, services started. On a new install it asks two questions about the interface: press Enter at both. (Options and separate core / interface installs: 2. Installation.)
2. Open it and sign in
Open https://<name>.local, the address the installer prints at the end — <name> is
your box's name (lost it?). On an iPhone or
iPad, trust the box's certificate first
(3. First run → 7): until
then, Safari does not open it. Your 30-day trial activates by itself.
Sign in as admin / admin123 — and change that password right away (Admin
tab → your card). (Details and passkeys: 3. First run.)
3. Install the audio engines you want
MPD is already there — the installer brings it, because everything plays through it. Add the rest from the Audio Software tab if you want them: Shairport Sync (AirPlay), UPnP Bridge (cast to the box), Roon Bridge, HQPlayer NAA, HQPlayer Embedded.
4. Initialize the audio stack
Config tab → Configure audio stack: pick your DAC and your music library — a USB drive, or a NAS share added right from the picker (mounted and tested on the spot) — and confirm with your admin password. The generated configs are minimal, and MPD's is bit-perfect with the volume at 100.
5. Connect your music
- Local library — already there: whatever you picked in step 4.
- Qobuz, Tidal, HIGHRESAUDIO (Pro) — Library → Sources, sign in to each service with your own subscription (walkthroughs: 5. Library & streaming).
- Internet radio — works out of the box, starter stations included.
6. Play
Library tab → pick an album → it plays on your DAC. Tap the Now Playing bar for the fullscreen player and the live hi-fi readout — format, sample rate, bitrate (tour: 4. Listening).
7. Make it yours (optional, five more minutes)
- Add it to your phone's home screen — fullscreen app, portrait lock.
- Register a passkey — Face ID / Touch ID login (from the box's name, its certificate trusted: 3. First run → 7).
- Send music elsewhere — network renderers, HQPlayer (Pro).
- Tune the OS for audio (Pro) — real-time scheduling, CPU pinning, latency tests.
